To respond to a challenge on Startup Matchbox, the startup must be recognized under the Startup Statute, awarded by Startup Portugal. This recognition confirms that the entity meets the legal criteria to be considered a startup in Portugal, including requirements related to innovation, entity age, size, and activity model. If the startup does not yet have this recognition, it can start the application process for the Startup Statute for free, which is done online and allows for validation of the framework before participating in the program. After the official platform launch, the startup must be registered and have a complete profile. With an active login, you will be able to access the available challenges and submit your response directly to the challenge of interest, presenting the proposed solution and its alignment with the challenge launched by the company.
After selection, collaboration between the startup and the company can take different forms, such as proofs of concept, pilot projects, joint development of solutions, or other commercial partnerships. The collaboration model, duration, and conditions are defined directly between the startup and the company.
The response to a challenge submitted by a startup is visible only to the company that launched the challenge and to the Startup Matchbox program management team, responsible for monitoring and validating the process.
